Affordable spay and neuter services available through SNIP Central
SNIP Central offers spay & neuter services to cats and kittens that weigh at least 2 lbs (this weight is typically achieved at eight weeks of age). Pets over the age of 6 years old are required to receive pre-operative blood work prior to surgery. This blood work would need to be done at a full-service clinic prior to scheduling with SNIP Central.
Why should I spay or neuter my pet?
To Improve Your Pet’s Health
Neutering male animals reduces the risk of prostate issues and eliminates the possibility of testicular cancers. Intact males are at higher risk of fights with other males which often ends in wounds that need medical care. Roaming also increases the risk of being hit by a car, being caught by predators, and coming in contact with diseases such as feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. Spaying female pets, especially before their first heat cycle, prevents uterine, ovarian, and mammary cancers. In addition, life threatening uterine infections are prevented. Spayed and neutered pets tend to live longer, healthier lives. To Improve Your Pet’s Behavior Animals are less likely to roam, bite, or mark their territory through spraying when spayed or neutered. Unaltered pets will often become vocal or stressed when in heat. Many owners complain that their intact cat will keep them up all night due to yowling. Fixing your pet will help reduce these stresses and keep you and your pet happy. |
To Prevent Pet Overpopulation
There is a huge overpopulation crisis worldwide. Millions of animals are euthanized or left to fend for themselves due to lack of space in animal shelters. Spaying or neutering your pet will help combat this exponential population growth and ensure more dogs are in loving homes instead of on the streets. To Avoid Unexpected Expenses The cost of a spay or neuter is much less than the cost of treating cancers of the reproductive system. Sterilization surgery is also less expensive than raising a litter or treating wounds caused by fighting for mates. Avoid unexpected expenses by spaying or neutering your pet prior to reproductive maturity. |
What does surgery cost for cats?
Our neuter package is $100 and spay package is $135. This package includes sterilization, a pain injection, and a tattoo on the abdomen that indicates surgery has already been performed. This small green tattoo is important to prevent future veterinarians from performing surgery on a cat that has already been spayed or neutered. You never know if your cat will end up lost or in a shelter environment and this tattoo will spare your cat from undergoing unnecessary procedures. The tattoo is typically only visible when a cat’s abdomen is shaved just prior to surgery. Kittens must be at least 8 weeks old and weight at least 2 lbs to qualify for services.

What about dog surgery?
While we mostly focus our efforts on cat sterilization, we do occasionally offer canine spay and neuter procedures as well. We are only able to accommodate dogs 40 lbs or less at these clinics as we have very limited space in our facility. We do not accept brachycephalic dogs ("smoosh faced" breeds) for surgery as they are at increased risk of respiratory issues during and after anesthesia. Some common brachycephalic breeds include: pugs, bulldogs, Boston terriers, French bulldogs, etc.
If you do not see dog spay/neuter appointments available on our online scheduler, it means that either we do not have any openings or we are not offering dog appointments at the time. If your dog is not up-to-date on its rabies vaccination, you are required to add the rabies vaccine when registering for surgery. |

Vaccination, viral testing, e-collars, microchips, dewormer, flea treatment, and nail trims are available at an additional cost at the time of surgery. We recommend that all pets receive their core vaccines to protect them from infections (HCP and Rabies for cats). |
