WHY Spay and Neuter?
Prevent pet overpopulation and minimize other health risks associated with intact pets
|
Why Vaccinate?
Prevent disease transmission and keep your pet protected from several deadly illnesses
|
Why Microchip?
Prevent lost pets and help them find home more quickly in the event of a unlatched gate, open door, or scare
|
Our low-cost SNIP clinics started out of the team's passion to reduce cat overpopulation in Central Oregon. The exponentially growing population of community cats in our area is alarming. Cats are able to reproduce at a very young age and without intervention their numbers continue to multiply rapidly. For these reasons, we have chosen to focus our surgical efforts on cats at this time. We hope to reduce unnecessary suffering and disease transmission through our sterilization efforts. We expanded care to include dog vaccinations and hope to offer dog surgeries in the future.

More About
Pet Cat Surgery
The pet cat surgery package is $80 for males and $115 for females. This package includes an exam, spay/neuter, pain medication injection, and green ink tattoo on the abdomen to indicate sterilization. This tattoo prevents your cat from having unnecessary surgery in the future if they end up lost at a shelter. The tattoo is typically only seen when the abdomen is shaved. Pet cats must be at least 2 lbs for surgery. We recommend cats over the age of five receive pre-operative blood work prior to surgery. This blood work would need to be done at a full-service clinic prior to scheduling with SNIP Central.

More about
Feral Cat Surgery
The feral cat surgery package includes spay/neuter, pain medication injection, rabies vaccine, and an ear tip to indicate sterilization. The left ear is cut at the tip so caregivers can differentiate between a sterilized and intact cat at a distance. This package is only available to unsocialized outdoor cats that do not have a true owner. Feral cats typically avoid human contact and will require a trap to be brought in for surgery. All feral cats must arrive in humane traps. Any cat arriving in a carrier will be charged the pet cat rate.

Dog Services
Vaccinations are available for dogs at our regularly scheduled clinics. Vaccines include DAPP (distemper virus, adenovirus, parvovirus, and parainfluenza virus), leptospirosis, bordetella, and rabies. We also offer heartworm testing and dewormer for dogs. Microchips (including a lifetime registration) are available during these clinics as well. Spay and neuter sterilization surgery is not currently available for dogs.
